LBC has been in existence for 55 years. The Church has had many ups and downs, good years and bad years, years of abundance and lean years. We are thankful for this season, for this time, a time of newness and growth.
In this picture we see hands that are dirty from hard work. Sin is terrible you know. The Bible teaches us that Jesus took the sin of mankind upon Himself. Yes, He took your sin upon Himself. He died on that cruel cross, taking your place, your substitute, and made full payment for your sins.
In these hands we see signs of new life. These hands have worked the soil and a seedling has been produced. This seedling makes me think of Ladysmith Baptist Church. Although 55 years old, we are in a new season. There is excitement in the air as we wait upon the Lord to keep doing His good work in us. The seedling may look insignificant. We may be small in the greater scheme of things. Yet, holding this small-town Baptist Church are the hands that fashioned the universe.
Friends, let’s keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Remember the words of the Apostle Paul: “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth” – 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 ESV.
Your brother in Christ,
